Suzi Shelton is an award-winning NYC singer/songwriter and performer who has been making catchy and meaningful music for families for more than a decade.

She has performed at such prestigious venues as The White House, Symphony Space and Lincoln Center, and is a favorite among the hip tot set in her home turf of Park Slope, Brooklyn. The mother of two kids, Suzi also works and performs regularly with students at area schools.

As the Brooklyn Spectator notes, “When Suzi Shelton takes the stage with her guitar and her band, you know that something special is about to happen.” She also recently launched a “Skype with Suzi” personal performance service, and she hosts a popular monthly webcast called Sing with Suzi. Suzi and her band plan a busy spring and summer concert schedule.

Suzi released her newly KICKSTARTED third solo family album in 2014, entitled "Smile In My Heart," produced by Marc Bazerman, which is a FEEL-GOOD FOR EVERYBODY collection of 12 new songs and 3 music videos including "Go, Fire Truck, Go," "Cinnamon Bear," and "Tomboy In A Princess Dress."

In addition to her newer songs, Suzi is perhaps best known for her crowd pleasing "fist pumping" songs like "Goin' On A Road  Trip," "Tomboy In A Princess Dress," and "Scooter  Boy," as well as her more folk inspired songs such as "So Long  Chocolate Cake," and her lovely rendition of "The Lion Sleeps Tonight."

SING WTIH SUZI! Suzi is currently branching out into the online world with her popular monthly webcasts that you can view live on Stageit.com and is looking for television and web possibilities to bring her original music and style to a larger market.

In 2006, Suzi formed her company, SuziMusic where she released her first solo award winning CD Simply Suzi, produced by Dan Siegler. Her second CD (also award winning) released in 2008, No Ordinary Day, includes her most requested songs "Goin' on a Road Trip," "Scooter Boy," and "No Ordinary Day."

With awards from Parents' Choice, the Children's Music Web, iParenting Media and a 2007 Gold Award from the National Parenting Publications, Suzi continues to gain national critical acclaim as well as a loyal following in her home base of New York City.

Suzi is also the host of Gymboree Play & Music DVDs award winning "The Very Brave Elephant and His Friends" and "Let's Get Moving! Trains, Cars and Planes."  "The Gymboree DVDs are musical-based, so kids are not just sitting in front of the TV. They are imitating animals or locomotion while they watch. It's the same goal with my performances - to have parents and kids feel comfortable enough to make them get up and sing and dance!" says Suzi.

More about Suzi:

I grew up in Chesterland, Ohio where I was a dancer and a preschool teacher. After moving to New York City, I began singing in a children's band, called Imagination Workshop Band, which along with teaching dance, became a wonderful combination of creativity and fun. Through the years, I have come to realize that I am the happiest when surrounded by kids singing and dancing along with me, so that is what i continue to do. I love my job and feel very grateful that I am able to have so much fun in my day job.  I also love to write songs and am constantly inspired by my husband, Dave, and my two children, ages 15 and 9.

Who is The Suzi Shelton Band?

I am usually accompanied by a very talented and wonderful group including my guitarist Greg Mayo, bassist Geoff Kraly,  and drummer Dan Weiner.

Quite often my backup singer and 10 year old daughter joins in as well. She will sometimes have some enthusiastic backup singers called "The Gumdrops" with her to really get the kids up and dancing.

My son now plays mandolin and fiddle, and if you are lucky, you can hear him playing live along with me and the band. For special occasions we even add harmonica players, horn players, banjo and fiddle players, and percussionists - then you know it's a party!

Where have we performed?

We have been fortunate enough to perform at such wonderful NYC venues as The Lincoln Center Tree Lighting Ceremony, Symphony Space, 92Y Tribeca, The Knitting Factory, The Living Room, The Bell House, Southpaw, Madison Square Park, Union Square Park, Battery Park City, Tribeca Film Festival, The Jewish Museum, The Children's Museum of Manhattan, The Long Island Children's Museum, and The Brooklyn Children's Museum to name a few. We have also traveled outside of the city and have performed at The White House Easter Egg Roll, The World Cafe' Live in both Philly and Wilmington, The Portland Children's Museum in OR, Bethlehem Musikfest and The Banana Factory in PA, Cain Park and The Grog Shop in Cleveland, OH, Off Broadway in St. Louis, The Beat Kitchen and Sub T in Chicago, and the KidsBeet Concert Series in Boston, MA.

What are we working on now?

Last year, we released a new CD as well as 3 music videos - 2 of them were produced by Roley Poly Productions, and they got rave reviews. It was also a blast to shoot!

We are working now on making a short television series for young children including more music videos, so please stay tuned.

In the meantime, you can always visit me in my home during my live Sing with Suzi webcasts on stageit.com. That is where you can hear our new songs, get a glimpse of my home and my family (and puppy), and request your favorite songs! It's really a lot of fun, and I enjoy doing them very much, as you will be able to tell if you sing along with me.

Thank you for your constant support and love! It means to world to me.

Peace and Love,

Suzi :)
