Little Miss Ann (Chicago): Little Miss Ann is a Filipina-American, nationally touring kids musician who has made 9 award-winning Family Music albums. She is also a former Chicago Public School teacher, an instructor at Chicago's iconic Old Town School of Folk Music, a social justice activist, and a first generation Filipina American. She is also a member of the kids music superduo "Birds of a Feather" with Suzi Shelton. Whether Ann is singing about Ube, a Filipino purple yam, or about Spring, her musical themes will inspire kids to let their own light shine in their own families as well as in their communities!
Suzi Shelton (Brooklyn): Indie children's recording artist Suzi Shelton is a multi-award winning singer/songwriter and family performer based in Brooklyn, NY who has been bringing joy and musical fun to families for over two decades. She has 10 albums under her belt, including her recent collab with Little Miss Ann from Chicago with their band 'Birds of a Feather," and new album with Benjamin (Princess Backpack & Benjamin) which was released in early 2026.
Benjamin of Princess Backpack and Benjamin (Brooklyn): Benjamin Weiner (performing as Princess Backpack and Benjamin) makes sweet, silly, danceable, interactive, surprising and thoroughly fun kids music! He has released two full-length albums (with 25 total songs) and his collaborative album with Suzi Shelton (We're Friends Now) came out in March 2026. He has been featured on, and written songs for, three more albums, including Little Miss Ann's most recent album, After We Roam. He has been performing music for children since 2016, and is an active member of the Children's Music Network.
Symon Hajjar of Hot Toast Music Co. (Tulsa) : Symon Hajjar is a Tulsa based dad, educator, and musician who writes irresistible kids' music, all with purpose. Hajjar, or Mr. Symon as his students call him, draws inspiration from the wonder of childhood and the power of music to inspire, teach, and connect a community. In his first classes as a music teacher at local Reggio Emilia preschool, B'nai Emunah, Symon was taken in by how quickly even the youngest children remembered the lyrics to songs. A lightbulb went off! Put to music, everything was an opportunity for learning and connection. Now, whether he's teaching, working with his kids in the garden, unraveling the complexities of the human experience, or swapping dinosaur facts with a four-year-old, he always has a song for the occasion. Combine catchy melodies and clever lyrics and next thing you know you've got... HOT TOAST!

Birds of a Feather is an American indie superduo of family music luminaries: Filipina-American Little Miss Ann (Ann Torralba) of Chicago, and Brooklyn’s longtime family music pioneer, Suzi Shelton. They are beloved veterans of the family music space who bring a combined 30+ years of musical experience and their music videos have reached over 11 million views.
Birds of a Feather is an artistic model for how joyful it can look and sound when two musicians come together to harmonize, and end up taking flight in unexpected ways. They want young listeners and their respective caregivers to understand that having a friend around to keep you grounded will help you be brave. Their tunes range from “Tough Cat” where meowing horn blasts and whimsical harmonies ignite bravery and strength; a guitar-driven title track “Birds of a Feather” featuring Suzi’s trademark “yeah”s; “Learning to Fly” a feel-good anthem that may just become this summer’s go-to campfire sing along.
Come flock together with us on the Deere-Wiman House (817 11th Avenue, Moline) lawn! Child care centers and day care providers are invited especially to the morning concert.
