As family musicians, we wanted to partner with a local organization helping to feed hungry families in the New York area. With a 90,000 Sq Foot warehouse in the Bronx, Food Bank NYC helps deliver food to families in all five boroughs of New York City. We are so grateful for their partnership and hard work. Holding this event the week before Thanksgiving seemed like a timely opportunity to help our friends and neighbors who need it most. We are also thankful to Jalopy Theatre for their partnership and commitment to community events that bring people together, and for embracing this important cause.

Birds of a Feather is a new American indie family supergroup consisting of two kids music luminaries - Filipina-American Little Miss Ann of Chicago and Brooklyn’s longtime children’s music pioneer Suzi Shelton. Individually, Ann and Suzi have maintained a strong presence within the national kids music community, performing with their own bands across the country and producing many award-winning albums. For over a decade, these longtime friends have also been inspired to perform together regularly at esteemed venues including the Kids stage at Lollapalooza (Chicago), The Overture Center (Madison, WI), Jewish Museum (NYC), The Cabot (Beverly, MA) and Wolftrap (DC) to name a few. Their debut album "Rock Together" produced by GRAMMY award winning Dean Jones.

Returning artist Ann Torralba is an award-winning Chicago children’s musician, a former Chicago Public School teacher, an instructor at Chicago’s iconic Old Town School of Folk Music, a mom, and a first-generation Filipina American. She has made seven family music albums which include genres such as: indie, folk, rock, punk, country, and bluegrass. Ann sings and plays guitar, ukulele, flutes, and percussion on her albums. She has received wonderful accolades for her albums such as the NAAPA award and the Parent’s Choice Award, and has written and collaborated on songs that highlight her Filipina American culture.

Ann introduces Suzi Shelton, an award-winning NYC singer/songwriter and YouTube host who has been bringing joy and musical fun to families for over a decade to the BrittKids Koncert stage. Suzi’s music celebrates diversity, inclusion and kindness.

Join us for Suzi Shelton's fun-filled musical performance! Local performer Suzi Shelton has been recognized as a voice in independent family music for over a decade. She has four solo albums under her belt, and a popular livestream show called Sing with Suzi featuring special guests from around the globe. 

This program will have registration that will open 24 hours before the program begins. In the case of inclement weather, the program will be moved to our auditorium and only those registered will be admitted entry. * This restriction is due to the fire safety limit set by the fire marshal and is non-negotiable. 

REGISTRATION IS REQUiRED (limited space if it’s indoors)

Jack & Friends is presented in celebration of Jack Roberts and his joyful spirit. His friends and family hope you enjoy it. This program is supported through the generosity of the John Merck Fund.
