Birds of a Feather is a new American indie family superduo consisting of two kids music luminaries – Brooklyn’s, longtime children’s music pioneer, Suzi Shelton and Filipina-American Little Miss Ann of Chicago. Individually, Suzi and Ann have each maintained a strong presence in the national kids music scene, performing with their own bands across the country and producing many award-winning albums on their own. For over a decade, these longtime friends have also been inspired to perform together regularly at esteemed venues including the Kids stage at Lollapalooza (Chicago), The Overture Center (Madison), Jewish Museum (NYC), and Wolftrap (DC) to name a few. Birds of a Feather released their hit Debut Album “Rock Together” in June and are loving performing for audiences throughout the country – including here at the Cabot!
Ann and Suzi regularly perform and tour together. They have also guest appeared on each other’s music including Little Miss Ann’s “Welcome Spring” and Suzi Shelton’s “Spread More Love” . Both songs as well as many others of theirs have been featured on Sirius XM Kids Place Live. At their shows, Ann and Suzi’s infectious energy, catchy melodies, upbeat rhythms and interactive fun inspires kids to let their own light shine in their own families and in their communities.

Come learn about Christeta and others as we celebrate Women's History Month with Birds of a Feather, two kids music luminaries - Filipina-American Little Miss Ann (Ann Torralba) of Chicago and Brooklyn's longtime children's music pioneer Suzi Shelton. At this special field trip during Women's History Month, Ann and Suzi will highlight some contributions of women in history as well as themes of individuality, strength and bravery through stories, movement and songs. Birds of a Feather (Little Miss Ann + Suzi Shelton) will perform classic favorites and new songs from their debut album "Rock Together," featuring themes of friendship, adventure and community. Expect unexpected gems like the Tom Tom Club-esque “Tough Cat” with meowing horn blasts, the indie-rock title track “Birds of a Feather” and a feel-good Tom Petty cover, “Learning to Fly.” With their combined years of experience, Little Miss Ann and Suzi Shelton will engage, entertain and delight audiences of all ages.
The 1pm performance will be American Sign Language interpreted. Please email kidsintherotunda@overture.org at least one hour ahead to be seated within sight of the interpreter for live performances.

As family musicians, we wanted to partner with a local organization helping to feed hungry families in the New York area. With a 90,000 Sq Foot warehouse in the Bronx, Food Bank NYC helps deliver food to families in all five boroughs of New York City. We are so grateful for their partnership and hard work. Holding this event the week before Thanksgiving seemed like a timely opportunity to help our friends and neighbors who need it most. We are also thankful to Jalopy Theatre for their partnership and commitment to community events that bring people together, and for embracing this important cause.

If you've never been to a Suzi Shelton concert, you are in for a treat! With over a decade of experience, Suzi creates music that is both uplifting and fun, encouraging little ones to sing, dance, and explore the world around them. Her songs are filled with playful melodies and positive messages such as "Spread More Love," and "Go Fire Truck Go," making her a beloved figure among families who seek heartwarming and interactive musical experiences. As a true happiness-maker, Suzi's performances are infused with charm and energy, leaving her young audience (and their grownups) smiling and inspired. For the youngest audience members, Suzi uses props such as books, egg shakers, dancing scarves, and special "friends" like Grey Squirrel, Snowy the Owl or her beloved Cinnamon Bear. Birds of a Feather is a new American indie family supergroup consisting of two kids music luminaries - Filipina-American Little Miss Ann of Chicago and Brooklyn’s longtime children’s music pioneer Suzi Shelton. Individually, Ann and Suzi have maintained a strong presence within the national kids music community, performing with their own bands across the country and producing many award-winning albums. For over a decade, these longtime friends have also been inspired to perform together regularly at esteemed venues including the Kids stage at Lollapalooza (Chicago), The Overture Center (Madison, WI), Jewish Museum (NYC), The Cabot (Beverly, MA) and Wolftrap (DC) to name a few. Their debut album "Rock Together" produced by GRAMMY award winning Dean Jones.
